Information for the Schools Trampoline - South West Regional 2024 at Wellsprings Leisure Centre - Taunton on 1st December 2024
The British Schools Gymnastics Association (BSGA) Regional Qualifier for this season will be held on Sunday 1st December at Wellsprings Sports Centre, Taunton. Please ensure you are there an hour before your child's flight time, except those first on in the morning. The day is split into two - morning and afternoon sessions - with medal ceremonies at lunch time and at the end of the day.
There is £1 entry fee person which MUST be paid in cash before entering the hall. Please note that there are no cash machines at the venue.
Please ensure you stay until the end of your session for the medal and trophy presentations for individuals and teams (most of you are in teams) and to support other club members and teams.
Our officials will be volunteering throughout the day for the club, please be appreciative that without them your children cannot compete, thank you.
Event Info:
Currently the BSGA Regional Qualifier will have 400 children and young adults taking part on Sunday 1st December.
Below you will find the running order for the competitors, timetable and judges roles.
Due to the sheer number of people taking part, and due to the capacity of the sports hall, unfortunately we must make the following requests:
All the competitors, and their spectators, who compete in the morning; please leave the sports hall as soon as possible after the morning medal presentations.
Equally, the competitors, and their spectators, who compete in the afternoon;
Please do not enter the sports hall until after the morning medal presentations have finished.
We understand this will not be possible for all, such as teams or families that have travelled together and have competitors in both the morning and afternoon, but if as many people as possible can do as requested, there should be enough space for everyone.
In addition to this, please can we also request that the minimum amount of baggage is brought into the hall, and to avoid using pushchairs if possible.
To avoid taking up the limited space in the seating area, there will be a section of the competition floor set aside for competitors and coaches bags.
Coaches/teachers; you will be required to make yourself known at the checking desk to receive your competition pack, including cards with your gymnasts name on and your coaching wristbands. Once you have been signed in and have your band attached you will have access to the competition hall. All level 1 or above coaches must sign themselves in. Wristbands will only be handed over once they have been signed for and must be put on before entering the hall.
Before a gymnast is allowed access to the trampolines for their warm ups they must hand over the card with their name on it to the warm up marshall. They will not be able to go on the trampolines until this has happened. Once the card is handed over it means the coach is present in the hall and is responsible for their safety.
Warm up marshalls (Marshall 1): It is your job to ensure that no gymnast gains access to the trampolines without handing you their warmup card, which will be given to them prior to their warmup time by their coach or school teacher.
Competition Marshall (Marshall 2): It is your responsibility to work with the chair of each panel to make sure the correct person gets on the trampoline at the right time.
Panel Managers: This is a computer based role where you work very closely with the chair to make sure the flight runs smoothly; you will need to indicate to the chair when the system is ready for the next competitor, and check scores from the judges tablets have been received. If you are on panel 1 or 2, you will also be responsible for running the time of flight equipment. Training will be given on the morning of the event.
Tariff sheets: Must be provided for all levels, including disability, in FIG notation.
Fine Designs will be in attendance again this year selling event hoodies and tshirts.
Milano Pro Sport will be in attendance selling leotards, teddies, shoes, shorts and other merchandise.
DE photos will take amazing pictures for you to purchase, available printed on the day or online later.
Hair: We are hoping to have some students from BTC on hand to help tie hair up in braids or buns etc. for a small fee.
Cafe: Cullens will be operating out of the cafe selling food and drinks for spectators throughout the day.
Please note that we have someone in attendance with a SEVERE NUT ALLERGY so all nuts are strictly forbidden and A SEVERE ORANGE ALLERGY so all ORANGES OR ANYTHING CONTAINING ORANGES ARE STRICTLY FORBIDDEN within the competition hall.
